Rombus Concrete Grid System
Innovative Slab Technology
Rombus is the new innovative cart path & slab technology. Using recycled plastic this new slab system is quickly becoming a game changer across the traditional concrete paving & slab industry. Rombus’ unique design, engineering composition & low cost makes it ideal for any high traffic area where forms & rebar would be the typical structure.
How It Works
The installation process is straight forward, simple and fast. The Rombus grid can be installed over an existing surface or a prepared course base layer. Once installed, the system is very durable and has low maintenance properties, reducing long term costs and ensuring the longevity of the wearing surface.
Why It Matters
Rombus offers a wide range of benefits over traditional slab and pavement systems.
- No rebar formwork is required
- Uses 60% less concrete
- No pumping cost / concrete trucks can drive directly on the Rombus grid.
- No saw cutting needed
- Fewer expansion joints required
The savings add up quickly and can be considerable.
Creating a cleaner greener future with a rapid deployment that’s stronger, faster, cheaper and greener than traditional methods.
Why Is It Important?
Reducing concrete usage improves air quality and lowers construction costs. By reducing the amount of concrete used, we can create a more sustainable future.
Stronger
When the Rombus grid is filled with standard 4,000 psi mix concrete, the compressive strength is 14,500 psi.
Faster
Our incredibly versatile grid is easily deployed, installed and can be removed for any unforeseen subsurface repair. It can easily be used as a drainage solution within a pavement by using permeable aggregates in nominated areas.
Cheaper
The Rombus grid is modular and easily clips together. Faster installation times combined with using 60% less concrete reduces construction schedules and increases job productivity.
Greener
Passionate about industrial sustainability, Rombus only uses 1.1 lbs of concrete per square foot. At only 1.5″ thick Rombus reduces the total amount of concrete needed for your project with no rebar.
